Why is my DeKalb water bill so high? ›

Bills can drastically increase for many reasons: malfunctioning water meters, meter reading mistakes, billing errors, increased water consumption and more. Here's how you can dispute your bill: 1. The DeKalb Water Program (DWP) is available to all income eligible households in DeKalb County who rent and receive water utilities through DeKalb County Government. This program offers a rate reduction assistance for past-due balances once per program year.
