Is there a Maryland Lottery? ›

You can play Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 at most Maryland Lottery® retailers. Just select the numbers you wish to play by filling out a playslip, or choose Quick Pick and the Lottery terminal will randomly select your numbers for you. Play Powerball and you could randomly win a free $2 Mega Millions ticket until 7/19!

Your ticket will have three lines of six numbers for each game you play. Multi-Match means multiple ways to match and win! You win by matching 3, 4, 5 or 6 numbers on any one line or by matching 5 to 18 numbers on all three lines combined.

The Maryland Lottery will award $50,000 for each game board matching five of five original winning numbers (“Winning Numbers”), up to a maximum of 12 game boards. (Note: This does not include any game boards matching four of the five Winning Numbers plus the bonus ball.)

Game Features

Play your way every day with Pick 5 to win up to $50,000! Pick your favorite two, three, four or five digit number or let the Lottery's computer randomly Quick Pick them. Decide how you want to play based on the number of digits you selected and the prize you want to play for.

Daily Drawings. The Lottery holds twice-daily drawings for Pick 3 (a three-digit game, with prizes ranging from $25 to $500); Pick 4 (a four-digit game, with winners receiving between $100 and $5,000); and Pick 5 (a five-digit game, with winners receiving between $25 and $50,000).

5-way Box: Play a 5-digit number with four digits the same. 10-way Box: Play a 5-digit number with three of one digit and a pair of matching digits. 20-way Box: Play three of one digit with two distinct different digits.

Winning tickets of any amount may be claimed at the Maryland Lottery headquarters located at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore and will be paid by check. If the ticket is valued at more than $25,000, it must be claimed at the Maryland Lottery headquarters.

The approximate overall probability of winning is 1 in 8.5.

The fixed prizes may be paid on a pari-mutuel basis and will be lower than the published prize amounts if certain levels of prize liability are reached.

All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem winning tickets up to and including $600. Use the Find a Retailer page to search for retailers by ZIP code. Winning tickets up to and including $5,000 can be redeemed at any Maryland Lottery Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) retailer.

Maryland Lottery Taxes

For prizes of more than $5,000, the Lottery will deduct 24% in federal tax and 8.95% in state tax for Maryland residents (8% state tax for non-residents). You must also still report your winnings as income, according to the MDLottery.com website.

If two (2) of the three (3) numbers played are identical (e.g. 112), there are only three (3) possible combinations of those numbers. This type of box play is called a “3-way box”.

Mega Millions®

Drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night. * After a jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket is sold, the starting jackpot amount for the next drawing will be determined by game sales and interest rates and will be announced prior to the drawing.

Powerball® tickets cost $2 per game. Powerball® with Power Play® cost $3 per game. Powerball® with Double Play cost $3 per game.
